NY Times writer explores the Colchagua Valley and delights at the “beautiful” Viña Vik

New York Times travel writer Ondine Cohane travelled to the vineyards of the Colchagua and Millahue Valleys to find out more about the precious wines and idyllic atmosphere of one of Chile’s most beloved wine regions.

Fascinated by not only the vines and flavour of Viña Vik‘s products, Cohane writes of his admiration of the landscape which reminded him “both of the vastness of an African savanna and the orderly beauty of French or Italian wine country.” He continues by giving recommendations for travel in the Colchagua Valley, suggesting that, although the great Lapostolle boasts a “light but flavorful” final product, smaller vineyards such as Viu Manent are also not to be missed.
