South Korean Wine Experts amazed by the diversity of Chilean wines during the first week of their 10-day visit to Chile

Wine Source Chile caught up today with two of South Korea´s most important wine experts who are visiting Chile curtesy of Brandabout S.A., Chile´s leading independent wine marketing agency.  Yong Heel Lee, Best Sommelier South Korea 2007, and Suzie Chung, wine reporter for wine21.com, are visiting Chile for the first time.  They mentioned that are amazed by the diversity of Chilean wines they have found so far, and the quality of the wines.  Commenting further ”the majority of the vineyards we are visiting, are unknown to us in South Korea, since the consumption per capita is still quite low, it is only the very large vineyards that are well recognized.”  Suzie Chung is certainly ready to increase the knowledge about Chilean wines in South Korea, in only the first 2 days, she has taken more than 300 photos and has collected so much material that will definately waken the taste buds of wine lovers back home.


During the period April 2012 – March 2013, Chile exported 6,7 million litres of bottle wine to South Korea to a value of 30 million USD.  During the period Jan – March 2013, exports of Chilean wine to South Korea increased by 22.2% compared to the samer period in 2012. (ref. PROCHILE)
