USA / “New World Winery of the Year 2013” nomination for Viña Santa Carolina

Viña Santa Carolina is excited to announce their nomination  for the category ” New World Winery of the Year 2013″ in latest version of the Wine Star Awards by the prestigious wine magazine Wine Enthusiast in the USA.  Viña Santa Carolina, with its rich winemaking traditions stretching over 138 years, is one of the oldest wineries in Chile, competing and winning gold medals with its wines as early as 1889 in the Exposition Universelle in Paris.    In their reasons for the nomination, the editors of Wine Enthusiast mentioned the large portfolio of wines that Santa Carolina offers consumers and their excellent price-quality ratio, as well as their continual innovation and investment in new vineyards and infrastructure.  Christian Wylie, Commercial Director of Viña Santa Carolina commented “This nomination is a recognition of the teamwork and dedication in the vineyard to produce excellent quality wines, including our icon wine Herencia, which recently received 93 points in Wine Spectator Magazine.”

Viña Santa Carolina will have to wait until the end of the year to know the final results of the awards which will be announced in the January 2014 edition of Wine Enthusiast (published 31st December 2013).  Meanwhile, the actual awards will be presented at Gala dinner in New York on the 27 of January 2014.

Good luck Viña Santa Carolina!
